About the Client - The Chassis & Safety division develops, produces and markets intelligent systems to improve driving safety and vehicle dynamics. Integral active and passive safety technologies and products that support vehicle dynamics provide greater safety, comfort and convenience. The goal here is to implement “Vision Zero,” the vision of accident-free driving.

Job Description

As an embedded software development engineer familiar with C/C++ development, your main tasks are:

Develop base infrastructure code to SOP delivery standards.

Work as part of the S/W development team in Burgess Hill, in cooperation with the algorithm development team in Burgess Hill.

Tasks:

* Software development.

* Participate in software design.

* Participate in peer software code review.

* Interact with other Conti teams as directed by their team leader

* Interact with OEM teams as directed by their team leader.

* Embedded software implementation and unit testing.

* Software optimisation.

* Take responsibility for all work assigned to them.

* Ensure the quality of their work by performing adequate engineer level testing.

Job Requirements:

* Work within an Agile team, contribute to sprint planning.

* Highlight any risks / dependencies early to team.

* Contribute to retrospectives for continual improvement.

Education:

* Degree level (or equivalent) Computer Science, Electronics, Maths or Physics.Professional

* Experience: At least three years experience of embedded software development.

* Project Experience: Ideally automotive S/W development experience.

Ideally have experience of:

* ARM programming/optimization and utilizing hardware accelerators.

* Embedded Linux and Multicore development experience.

* Embedded S/W development (ICE, JTAG etc).

* Assembler programming, an advantage but not essential.

* OpenGL experience an advantage but not essential.

* Experienced working with version control systems.

* Makefile systems (make, CMake).

* Electronics hardware knowledge an advantage.

* Ideally has experience of working in a multisite, multicountry organsisation.

* Fluent English language skills, German an advantage but not essential.
