Vacancy description  

The successful applicant will be working with an experienced carpenter on site and duties will include first and second fix work, e.g.:

• Hanging doors
• Skirting
• Architrave
• Fitting locks
• Warm roofs
• Stud walls
• There will be some working at height. 
• You will be expected to provide your own tape measure and safety footwear, however, other tools will be provided initially.

Whilst you will be able to travel to site with the employer, you will need to get to a designated pick up point at the time agreed and it would be beneficial if you are able to drive.

East Sussex College are the Training Provider for this apprenticeship.

Full training will be given.

Desired skills  

Ideally you will have:

• The ability to use a tape measure
• Some knowledge of carpentry terminology
• A good attention to detail
• The ability to work as part of a team and use your initiative
• Good timekeeping  

Personal qualities  

You should be:

• Motivated
• Reliable
• Interested in carpentry
• Willing to learn 

Desired qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English and Maths desirable.

Future prospects

Potential permanent full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
