In a nutshell

Reporting to the Head of Channel Marketing, Virgin Holidays, you will oversee digital channels and work in concert with other Marketing colleagues across the offline channels to continually maximise return on marketing investment.

You’ll share best practice with your Ecommerce and Marketing colleagues, ensuring that valuable learnings are made available cross-functionally and with our agencies. Working with Technology and agency partners, you will lead in the selection and implementation of new technology whilst exploiting utilization of current-state platforms and systems to support our digital capability.

Leading demand forecasting for the Virgin Holidays business specifically, and supporting the annual business and marketing planning process will also play a big part in this role.

Day to day

As an inspiring leader, you will coach your team to achieve brand and commercial targets. You will build outstanding cross-functional relationships between Retail Division Managers, the broader Marketing team and Brand Identity team through effective collaboration and stakeholder management. 

Overseeing a performance led strategy for all digital media channels by driving high-quality demand to the Virgin Holidays website as well as overseeing digital marketing across PPC, SEO, affiliates, display, support social media and CRM where relevant.

With a relentless focus on performance, you will oversee the use and translation of data from analytics, attribution and other marketing analysis disciplines to drive the highest return on ad spend and surface customer and or business strategy insights.

You will build deep integration with ecommerce, as well as great relationships with customer centre and retail teams. You will continually assess and refine digital marketing activities in an agile manner and respond to new opportunities and threats. Where appropriate you will rapidly deploy new activities to enhance or improve business performance.

Leading the relationship with our digital marketing agency, working collaboratively on necessary action plans to continuously drive performance and innovation.

Proactively researching and identifying industry trends and vendor developments to ensure that Virgin Holidays is adopting technology advances. You will source and implement future-proofed technology that underpins agile digital marketing capabilities, leveraging opportunities for innovation.

Working to bridge the gap between digital media, other marketing and business disciplines to enhance customer experience in an omni-channel manner. Leading the education of key stakeholders in how to manage digital marketing levers to support the customer journey.

Leading the demand forecasting process for annual budgeting and regular planning cycles (e.g. daily phasing) across web demand and calls to our call centre.

Owning control and agile deployment of the digital marketing budget across all digital channels (excluding social) with conscientious budget management.

About you

Are you passionate about the digital world? Do you have a deep understanding of digital marketing disciplines and underpinning technologies?

We are looking for someone who has a BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience along with demonstrable experience with various ad-platforms; Analytics and AdWords essential, attribution & ad-serving. You’ll also have proven experience and the ability to articulate complex data problems into digestible business insights and strategy.

As an innovative problem solver and outstanding collaborator, you’ll have entrepreneurial flair underpinned by sharp commercial acumen. You’ll be adept at working to strict deadlines and under pressure and have the ability to influence upwards and drive positive change in behaviour across the business.
