Consultant Ecologist - Crawley

My client is an independent Ecological Consultancy, with a head office based in Surrey, but work across the width of the UK. They offer their clients an assortment of services such as environmental surveys, appraisals, mitigation, and translocation to support planning applications and other projects. This medium-sized consultancy of highly experienced ecologists provides a professional yet personal service. They are currently expanding their team based near Crawley and are looking for a Consultant Ecologist to join the team.

To achieve this role, it is required that you have:

A minimum of 3 years' relevant consultancy experience;
Project management experience;
Good Extended Phase 1 habitat and/or protected species survey skills;
A protected species licenses or be working towards achieving one;
Good report writing skills;
Competency in common software packages such as MS Office, QGIS or similar;
A Full / Associate Membership of CIEEM or be eligible to apply.
A current UK driving license.

During your time at this role you will be:

Supporting liaison with project managers and clients on the delivery of ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects;
Organising and carrying out desk studies and field-based habitat, botanical, protected and non-native invasive species surveys.
Safe delivery of protected species and habitat surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies;
Performing the role of an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects;
Adaptable and flexible approach to work to meet peaks in demands (as all roles are likely to involve occasional longer/and or unsociable hours and a degree of working away from home for days/ weeks at a time)
