Overview:

L3 Harris are seeking an Apprentice who will be responsible for providing support to the global L3 Harris business by joining the Business Capture Management Team, in a challenging fast-paced environment.  The Business Capture team collaborates with every aspect of the business, in order to create solutions and respond to customer needs.  The Bid Coordinator Apprentice will gain insight and exposure to sales, project management, finance, commercial, and marketing to name but a few of the key functions with whom interactions occur on a daily basis.  

In addition to the day-to-day activities, the Bid Coordinator Apprentice will participate in internal strategic initiatives to drive change and continuous improvement.  Other opportunities will be made available to the Bid Coordinator Apprentice to increase their organizational awareness, such as providing support to marketing events and tradeshows on behalf of L3 Harris, representing L3 Harris with associations and industry bodies, etc.

Core responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Providing administrative support to the Business Capture team with the preparation of bids and proposals, including authoring responses to Request for Proposals 
  • Coordinate L3 Harris functional teams to review customer requirements and ensure an accurate scope of effort for completion 
  • Prepare handover to contract delivery with key stakeholders, such as technical teams, project management, customer support and sales account executive for successful project launch
  • Coordinate customer requirements with the relevant product owners 
  • Maintain detailed records of all bids and proposals, including keeping documentation up to date as required 
  • Support for various sales, marketing and L3 Professional Development Scheme (PDS) outreach activities as needed
  • Maintain high ethical standards and perform duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who really want to make the most of a hands-on Apprenticeship working in a complex, international and fast-paced environment, pushing the boundaries of what can be learnt and experienced during an Apprenticeship. Your role is highly visible so your communication must be clear, concise and professional at all times. You must be able to quickly understand problems and issues and sometimes interpret conversations, especially when providing remote support.

Essential skills and experience: 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Affinity to detail, with excellent interpersonal communication skills and writing skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Willingness to approach any task with enthusiasm
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a minimal level of supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with his/her peers and supervisors at all times
  • Team player, flexible working, open-minded, proactive in moving the company forward
