Our client, Southern Water are looking for 2 x Senior Project Managers to deliver large engineering schemes (totalling approx £200m). The position will be based at Falmer, Brighton. The ideal candidate must have flagship project experience.

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) plans, directs, manages and provides clear oversight of assigned design and construction programmes to ensure that business goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters.

The SPM is responsible for the overall budget and quality objectives of significant projects and or programme of works.

The role will be integral in delivering the step change in performance and efficiency required within the business, and as such will need to have a good understanding of delivery management, the ability to problem solve and facilitate meetings to achieve consensus to maintain programme.

Scope of role

Responsible for delivery of multiple programmes of work (or significant projects) of up to £200m (across the 5 year AMP cycle), and the matrix management of multidisciplinary delivery teams in both water and wastewater. The team will comprise of both internal and external parties.

Working with the Programme Manager to provide clarity of delivery timescales and simplify programme complexities to allow the business to make informed decisions on investment to reduce business risk.

As a senior member of the leadership team will also be responsible for day to day management, coaching and direction of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
