We are registering experienced support professionals to work on an ongoing, temporary basis at a private mental hospital in West Sussex.
You will work on a shift basis, between 12 to 40+ hours per week, depending on your availability.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Help to maintain high standard of individual patient care and rehabilitation.
• Receive and act upon handovers, reports and instructions.
• Take all possible precautions to safeguard the welfare and safety of staff, patients, visitors and the public by implementing all policies and procedures.
• Report accidents and untoward incidents to patients, visitors or staff.
• Be aware of the psychological, social, physical and spiritual needs of all patients.
• Through observation, monitor and inform nursing staff of any changes in patients physical/psychological condition, or other significant factors.
• Escort patients under the direction of the Nurse in Charge.
• Be courteous and helpful to patients and their families.
• Notify Team Leader of special needs and problems in the unit.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
We are keen to hear from people with the following:
Essential:
- 12 months previous employment within a social care role.
- Mandatory care training.
- Able to work 12 hour shifts (daytime or "waking night" shifts).
- Able to work flexibly, often at short notice.
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Professional manner, with strong communication skills and neat handwriting
- Knowledge of confidentiality requirements.
- Resilient nature, prepared to deal with difficult situations, while recognising limitations.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and risk management
