Our client who are specialists in their field are looking for an Assembly Technician (Mechanical)
Reporting To: Production Manager
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
City & Guilds level 1&2&3 or HNC/HND, or apprenticeship (mechanical biased)
Assembly of mechanical components using fine tooling
Some light electrical wiring skills
Ability to work on own initiative, and plan work efficiently.
Ability to maintain concentration at a high level, with meticulous quality checks throughout
Must speak clear fluent English
Advantageous Qualifications & Skills:
Previously used 3D modelling on AutoCAD programmes on the computer (for assembly only)
Previous experience with functionality testing and pre-test checks
Training
You will be given training in the factory to gain knowledge of components, assembly (electrical/electronic and mechanical), and product testing.
Job Description
Primary roles
Mechanical assembly of the full range of client manufactured lampheads.
New production lines are being set up with cell assembly techniques and processes.
Fine assembly of a range of designed sub- components.
Precision quality control checks following computer production instructions and parameters.
Mechanical and electrical testing
Functionality test of products using designed testing equipment.
Electrical safety testing.
Secondary roles
Support of service department
Fault diagnosis and repair of returned goods
Occasional work on site alongside Service Technicians. This may involve travel in the UK and overseas, but is rare.
Any other duties
As reasonably requested in any other factory department.
This could be in stores, packing, test – to assist when bottle neck situations arise.
Tools & Clothing
All necessary tools and safety equipment are provided.
Uniform provided – including safety shoes
