Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is committed to paying the Real Living Wage. This is currently £9.00 per hour and is reviewed annually in line with the cost of living.

Our Bank Facilities Assistants receive a 12.5% addition to our standard hourly rates, so earn over £10 per hour before tax, with further enhancements available for weekend working.

There are various bank positions available, covering our full and part time teams' annual leave and sickness throughout the year. Regular hours are not guaranteed, but shifts are available at multiple locations across Sussex.

We are looking for applicants who can work at Zachary Merton Hospital in Rustington primarily, with housekeeping and catering work also available at other sites.

Housekeeping and Catering
  • Working as part of a team providing meals for our patients and helping to maintain our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital
  • Assisting in our compliance of all HACCPs (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), food safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation
  • Meeting National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS

Porter/Driver
  • Providing a full portering service to the hospital in terms of transport of equipment
  • Delivering items in connection with Trust business
  • Keeping the hospital clear of refuse and clinical waste

The driving will involve the use of a leased light goods van. The post holder must be in possession of a current driving licence for the class of the vehicle required.

Previous experience in either role is preferred, but not essential, as full training will be provided both on site and at statutory training days.
