Train Maintenance Technician - Brighton
Excellent opportunity to join the Train maintenance sector with a full detailed training plan set out for you.
Location: Brighton
Salary: £37,900 + Free Train Travel + Final salary pension
Required Experience:
Automotive - NVQ level 3 and either working towards Master Technician or already Master Technician.
Armed Forces - Ideally REME, RAF, Navy background in Engineering
PSV / HGV - NVQ level 3 qualified
Maintenance Engineers - NVQ level 3 in an Engineering based subject (Facilities, Factory, conveyor systems etc)
Role profile:
This is the first step for Engineers to move in to the Train maintenance sector, taking good Mechanical engineers with a basic electrical understanding and developing them in to a duel skilled engineer.
If you can read electrical schematics and identify the components on it then you have the ability to move in to this position. It is a hands on role, depot based, working on a rotating shift system with a 4 days, 4days off, 4 nights, 4 days off system.
Role and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Undertake routine Electrical & Mechanical maintenance of components and systems in accordance with the relevant exam schedule.
* Complete environmental examinations against detailed specifications, detailing any issues found.
* Compile formal reports detailing post incident / failure.
* Carry out general cosmetic repairs in the carriages, such as changing, light fitting and door locks, in addition to repairing the body side of units.
* Undertake basic servicing e.g. brake pads, air filters, oil etc.
* Supervise and mentor assistants and apprentices and provide on the job training where required.
* Advise Production Manager / Depot Coordinating Manager of any problems or defects identified and work arising from the issues.
