My client is an award-winning, independent, Ecological Consultancy based within the South East of England. They work both in the private and public sector supplying a wide range of environmental services. Services such as extended phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys and mitigation strategies as well as many more. They are a relatively young Consultancy and are looking to expand their ever-growing team by bringing on a Principal Ecologist.
For this role it is required that you have:
Strong communication, organisational, management, and IT skills;
Commercial awareness and good client-consultant relationship management;
A minimum of 8 years' experience working within an Ecological role;
Professional institution membership such as MCIEEM, Chartered Ecologist;
Extensive Phase 1 Habitat and Protected Species Surveys;
1 or more protected species survey licenses, preferably a bat or great crested newt licenses;
Previous EPS Licence holder (GCN or Bats), mitigation scheme and development license applications;
Report-writing and technical proofing skills
During your time at this role, you will be helping to develop both the team and the ecology area of the business, whilst working closely with other senior executives. You will also lead the successful expansion of the ecology consultancy function at an extremely exciting time for the Company. The role will suit an ecology professional who is looking to progress their career along a long-term rewarding path, in areas of technical expertise, team leadership, management, and business development, and who are at or above Principal or Associate Director level. Flexibility on location is available, with the ability to work at home for periods but regular access to Wolverhampton and Leeds would be required. The role will be part site-based, and part office-based, and will involve the development of the technical capabilities of the team, maintenance of client relationships, project and budget management, and representation of the Company
