Pay Rate: £12 per hour weekdays and weeknights 

Weekend Nights: £14 per hour (night shifts are waking nights)

Hours: Full–time - 37.5 average weekly hours available.Working an average 13 - 14 x 12.5 hour shifts and occasional 6.5 hour shifts.Day and night support.

Part-time: 25 average weekly hours available.Working an average 8 x 12.5 hour shifts and occasional 6.5 hour shifts.Day and night support.

Role

We are seeking to recruit, patient, reliable and proactive support workers who are flexible and have the ability to work allocated shifts. Previous experience in care work is useful but not necessarily essential as full training will be given. The roles will be supporting a young adult with complex needs who requires 2:1 support, 24/7 and working within a family environment in an adapted home.

Essential:

  • Must be comfortable working within a family home and supporting a client with high level of needs.
  • To work in partnership with the family.
  • To work collaboratively within a team focused on client needs, taking a dynamic and engaging approach to the delivery of a high standard of care.
  • Ability to deliver care for a young adult including assisting with moving and handling and hygiene needs.
  • Assisting in each aspect of the young adult’s daily life, enabling them to make choices where possible, and access the community to undertake therapies and social activities.
  • Ability to follow a care and rehabilitation therapy plan as per instruction by the team leader, family and therapists.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to recognise the client’s changing condition, communicate the findings and intervene in an appropriate manner when necessary. To be aware and assess the risk of the day to day care.
  • To plan and prioritise the workload.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.

Desirable:

  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake training.
  • Aptitude and desire to work with complex issues.
  • A high energy level is essential to keep up with the physical demands that this role can present.
  • Our client’s privacy and confidentiality must be respected at all times.
  • Car driver with clean full UK drivers licence.

Other Requirements:

  • Looking for a long-term placement
  • Previous care experience may be useful but is not necessarily essential.
  • Happy to be around the family friendly dog.
  • Flexibility and ability to work allocated shifts.
