Sessional hours - approx 2.5 hours per week
We are looking to appoint a Sessional Engineering Lecturer to deliver the Open Access course.
Teaching the Open Access course is an interesting and stretching job. The nature of the workshop facilities offered means that we attract people of all ages and skills.
Not only core engineering craft skills but the ability to be able to use your knowledge to help people deliver everything from model engineering & restoration projects to metalwork sculpture /art objects.
A good all round knowledge is needed and an acute awareness of safe working practices. Skills desirable include, hand fitting, turning, milling, grinding, welding and so forth. A high level of ability is not usually required, just sound experience.
You will help people to realise their craft / hobby dreams. Formal assessing is not undertaken, nor do we deliver any formal classroom theory, it is all hands-on workshop craft.
