Patient Experience Facilitator - 22.5 hours per week

Are you looking for a new challenge, where you can have a positive impact on patient experience and where no two days are the same? We are looking for a part time Patient Experience Facilitator to join our Quality and Safety department, working three days a week within the Patient Experience team.

The Patient Experience team provides an accessible and responsive service by offering on the spot advice, support and resolution for patients, relatives and members of the public about NHS care. In this challenging post you will join a team that aims to resolve concerns quickly and efficiently, and uses the feedback obtained to influence and improve the patient experience.

Dealing with highly sensitive situations on a daily basis, you will handle cases from the first point of contact and liaise with operational and clinical staff to address questions, issues and concerns.

You must be enthusiastic and motivated, demonstrate sensitivity and tact, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be able to manage conflict, deal with often challenging and sometimes distressing situations, and mediate between parties to resolve problems, working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

In addition to helping others, this role is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and support your career progression. We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate a patient-focused approach, with the desire to support the provision of an accessible service to patients, their relatives and carers.

As part of the wider Patient Experience team you will be required to travel across Sussex providing information and support as required, and engaging with patients to collect valuable feedback.

Experience of general administration duties and a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office is required, with at least three years' experience in a customer care or NHS role.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically also; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.
