Community Cricket Director
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Sussex Cricket Foundation (the charity within Sussex Cricket) as Community Cricket Director.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and part of the Executive Leadership Team, this is a pivotal role at Sussex Cricket, accountable for leading a team in order to maximise participation and growth in community cricket across Sussex; a core part of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) national ‘Inspiring Generations’ strategy.
We are looking for somebody who is passionate about, and has a thorough working knowledge of, the positive social impact of community sport. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable successful track record in working at a strategic level within community sport, preferably cricket. The ideal person will have a strong background in the development, delivery and management of a range of community sport programmes, including an in-depth understanding of the funding structure.
We are looking for a resilient and innovative leader who has a proven track record of inspiring others to deliver excellence in the world of community sport. The ideal person must be flexible and willing to work irregular working patterns in response to operational needs.

Sussex CCC was the first First-Class County formed in 1839
In November 2015, an historic merger took place between Sussex County Cricket Club and the Sussex Cricket Board, to form Sussex Cricket Limited (SCL). SCL is responsible for the governance and development of the whole game in the county, from recreational to professional level.
Sussex County Cricket Club is the oldest professional sports club in the world and one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. Its limited overs team is called the Sussex Sharks. The club has always held first-class status. Sussex have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.
The Club won its first County Championship in 2003, which was the beginning of an era in which Sussex enjoyed prolonged success, named 'The Golden Decade'.
Sussex Cricket also incorporates the Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF). Through the activities, it provides the SCF aim to make cricket accessible to all.
