Are you passionate about providing high quality, safe and culturally-competent patient care? We're looking for a Deputy Director for Infection Prevention and Control to join our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team.

The Deputy Director will work with the Director for Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) to ensure that the Trust continually improves its performance in reducing healthcare-associated infections by developing systems that are evidence-based and grounded in best practice. They will lead on education, and support the IPC team with audit and evaluation. Along with the DIPC, they will lead on the development of IPC strategy, ensuring engagement of all groups of staff, patients and external organisations where appropriate.

The post will require close working relationships with divisional management teams, clinical directors, pharmacists and matrons to ensure the application of all policies, procedures and guidelines and monitoring of standards.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, an education and training programme, and professional advice, support and supervision for the IPC team and clinical and non-clinical staff in relation to IPC and communicable disease management. They must hold a recognised qualification in infection prevention and have significant clinical practice in this field, with experience of leading an IPC team. They will need excellent interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills to take the IPC agenda forwards, and the ability to act as a role model in promoting the IPC principles across the Trust, influencing and improving the quality of care delivered to our patients.
