JOB TITLE: IT Technician

LOCATION: Remotely based until safe to return to the office in Lewes, East Sussex

PAY RATE: £14 - £16.81 PAYE / Up to £21.50 via Umbrella Company

START DATE: ASAP

DURATION: 6 months

Our client within Public Sector looking for an IT Technician. They are looking for candidates who are available to start as soon as possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Responsible for recording and documenting all aspects of work undertaken to ensure continuity throughout a requests life span and to provide a knowledge base for future reference.
Responsible for accurately categorising, prioritising, diagnosing, and resolving incidents and requests in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
Responsible for completing tasks in the delivery of projects and changes as defined by the relevant Service Manager.
Required to identify problem areas where customer training and education could reduce the levels of calls.
Take ownership of the escalation process in the event of a major incident following incident management procedures to ensure restoration of normal services to the customer.
Proactively monitor outstanding events within the service team and take appropriate action to ensure required customer service levels are delivered including monitoring the team call queues.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

A full appreciation of the Council's technology architecture and an understanding of the impact that each system has on the business is essential.
Full experience in one of the following specialist areas is essential and a supporting professional qualification is desirable:
Desktop environment including hardware characteristics, Operating Systems, office productivity systems (e.g. Office), business line applications, disk imaging, problem management, and backup & recovery.
Server and Back Office including servers, storage, back-ups, Operating Systems, productivity systems (e.g. email, internet), security (e.g. firewall), and backup & recovery.
Voice including principles of telecommunication infrastructure design and development, security, types of private network, and addressing.
Data including principles of data infrastructure design and development, security, protocols, LANs and WANs, data standards, types of private network, and addressing.
Full experience in the following areas of work is essential:
Install, maintain, and support ICT services covering a range of locations.
Enable the use, support and development of applications and systems in accordance with business requirements and targets
Define and implement solutions to satisfy business needs as defined by the Service Manager.
Conversant in IT Best Practice at a good level with an understanding of the standards that govern service delivery - an ITIL Foundation Level certificate is desirable.
