We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join a friendly, multi-disciplinary therapy team at an Outstanding SEN school. The school is based just outside of Horsham, so your own transport is essential. You will be providing specialist, direct and indirect therapy for students aged 4-19, all of whom are diagnosed with autism and related disabilities. This school has small class sizes of 3 to 6 students, meaning you will have the opportunity to provide dedicated, tailored support on a 1:1 basis. To support your career progression, the school is able to offer fully funded training and development programs. It is important to note that you will be working Monday to Friday, 9am to 4:30 pm (Tuesdays to 5:30pm), during the schools’ term times. Part time will be considered for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Supporting and developing pupils’ ability to attend to people and develop their receptive and expressive communication skills

* Helping support a total communication environment to include the use of visuals and modified language use

* Making recommendations and adaptations to the pupil’s environment to support total communication

* Supporting pupils to develop appropriate social interaction skills with adults and peers

* Helping to develop functional language skills and independence

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:

* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification

* HCPC registration to practice

* Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

* Interest in special educational needs and autism spectrum disorder

* Clinical experience and working knowledge of paediatrics

* Experience in writing reports to contribute towards Annual Reviews and Education, Health and Care Plans
