Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community healthcare provider in Sussex.
  • 5,000 full and part time staff, with over 4,000 people registered on our bank
  • Medical, nursing and therapeutic care provided to over 9,000 children and adults a day
  • July 2018 Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating of 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features
  • BAME, Disability, LGBT+ and Religion and Belief Staff Networks
  • Disability Confident Employer - Level 2

As part of an exciting new collaboration with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and YMCA Downslink, we are looking to recruit an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Deputy Clinical Lead for our IAPT Long Term Conditions (LTC) pathway in Brighton and Hove.

We have an excellent track record in IAPT service delivery, having delivered the nationally-recognised and high performing Time to Talk and Time to Talk Health services in West Sussex.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our service at a time of significant growth and expansion, based on the NHS Long Term Plan (2019), which sets out an ambitious path to transform the nation's physical and mental health over the next decade, representing vital progress towards parity of esteem between mental and physical health.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's Clinical Lead, and they will hold responsibility for the clinical quality and performance of the team. With extensive experience of working in IAPT services, the Deputy Clinical Lead will oversee the delivery of high quality, NICE evidence-based psychological therapies and clinical supervision, ensuring staff achieve competencies and accreditation.

As part of this brand new role, the post holder will initiate service improvements and influence the development of the service, through consultation with the senior team and audit, research and service evaluation projects.

We offer a supportive professional development framework, including access to the Trust's Allied Psychology Forum network which offers professional support and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) networking events with a range of psychological practitioners across the Trust.

The Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service consists of multidisciplinary teams of CBT Therapists, Counsellors, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Administrators, Managers and Employment Advisors. We are commissioned to provide services from 8am to 8pm, and all staff are required to contribute towards this.

In response to the recent challenge of COVID-19 we have quickly adapted our service to enable the continued provision of psychological therapies via video platforms and telephone working. Staff have been equipped with laptops and mobile phones, enabling effective home working. As the situation evolves and we return to working from bases we plan to move to a blended way of working, keeping the innovations that have worked well. We envisage staff working one or two days a week from home as part of these new ways of working, although the post holder will still need to be willing and able to travel throughout Brighton and Hove as required, and have a high level of visibility as well as engagement with physical health teams.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically also; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.
