Woodford Finch are delighted to be working with a highly reputable West Sussex based charity to find them a Trust and Foundation Officer.
The competencies listed below are those that the jobholder is expected to demonstrate immediately on taking up the post. They constitute the minimum standards of performance. They are not intended to be exhaustive and the jobholder will be expected to constantly enhance and add to their competence.
Main job description:
* To work with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing to develop and implement a trusts & foundations program that complements both the wider trust & foundation strategy and the Income Generation strategy across the Charity as a whole.
* To raise a substantial income from trusts & foundations to meet the fundraising targets set out in the operational and capital budgets. To diversify the charity's portfolio of donors and to build strong long-term relationships with donors by cultivating, stewarding and soliciting major grants from trusts & foundations.
* To monitor and be responsible for income and expenditure against budgets and to regularly report progress against set KPI’s.
* To work collaboratively with the Income Generation colleagues to facilitate cross selling of relevant opportunities to donors, ensuring no duplication of activity and that revenue fundraising and long-term fundraising remains sustainable.
* To work with other staff to identify capital projects and items which need funding, and to 'package' such projects and items to secure the necessary funding.

* To review, update and implement the trusts & foundations element of operational and capital plans on a regular basis, identifying detailed actions for a rolling 12-month period and outlining key plans for longer timescales.
* To research and understand the future funding needs of the Charity for projects and capital expenditure, through liaison with management, staff members and volunteers.
* To liaise with service professionals including clinical staff to obtain up to date service delivery data
* Collaborate with the PR & Communications Officer regularly review and creating new case for support and case studies.
* Ensure all trusts are thanked appropriately, ensuring that all grant T&C’s such as media promotion is delivered in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all donor records are kept up to date and accessible
General –
* To identify new fundraising opportunities and initiatives allied to other fundraising income streams when necessary
* To liaise with the Head of Fundraising and with fundraising team members, making them aware of the opportunity for income relevant to their own areas of agreed work.
* To act as a fundraising ambassador within all groups and sectors, to be professional and communicate with enthusiasm, credibility, conviction and knowledge.
* To help develop beneficial and lasting relationships with individuals and legal professionals, continually raising Care for Veterans profile and championing all aspects of its work.
* To ensure that all appeals and applications are consistent with any changes
* With the HOF&M, regularly assess and evaluate relationship effectiveness in terms of potential income streams and profiling etc.
* Ensure that fundraising procedures are followed, and that meetings and other diary activities are recorded and updated appropriately, whilst ensuring that colleagues are made aware on diary dates, visits and deadlines associated with your work.
* To attend and participate in scheduled department meetings, adding value through reports and information as required.
* To provide work status and progress feedback to line management regularly.
* To manage trust and foundation research volunteers
