Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GBMET) (formerly Northbrook College and City College Brighton) aims to transform the lives of students across the Greater Brighton region.

 

This exciting post offers the opportunity to work for the College supporting a new project called the NHS Health & Care Academy which is currently being set up with our partners - Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT).

 

The partnership between the College and SPFT will provide learning opportunities, work experience, suitable qualifications and progression pathways for people wanting to enter into the health and social care sector through college courses and training.

 

This post will ensure the delivery of a meaningful work experience programme for the NHS Health & Care Academy including the planning, promotion, preparation and tracking of work placements, industry placements, work related projects, and other work related activities.

 

You will provide an efficient liaison service between SPFT, students and course tutors to source, promote and monitor suitable work experience and industry placements for students, and ensure correct course information and associated marketing is provided to SPFT to support with progression ladders.

 

The role will also ensure ongoing tracking and monitoring in partnership with the relevant college departments, SPFT, learners and stakeholders.

 

It is essential that you hold GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths and have knowledge of the skills landscape and a meaningful understanding of the wider social-economic context of the need to bring employers and learners together. Ideally, you have experience of working in a Further or Higher Education environment or in the nursing /healthcare sector.

 

You will need a Level 3 IAG qualification or a willingness to work towards this, need to have knowledge of Microsoft Office software and have competent keyboard and IT skills.
