About the role

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are working in partnership with Crawley Borough Council and their Employ Crawley service to offer information, advice, guidance and support to local young adults. Employ Crawley are now looking to recruit two Youth Employment Support Officers on one year fixed term contracts, to be based at the Crawley Town Hall Youth Hub.

These roles will empower young unemployed Crawley residents and those facing redundancy (aged 18-24 years), by providing them with meaningful careers advice and access to intensive employment support and skills training. This will involve coaching, mentoring and tailoring provision to support each person’s individual needs. You will help address any complex barriers to employment, identify transferable skills and alternative career pathways.

You will have a Level 2 IAG Qualification or relevant experience, a good working knowledge of Crawley’s employment and skills landscape and key local partner organisations. You will have the ability to build a strong rapport with a diverse range of young people. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to build excellent working relationships with internal and external partners. You will be social media confident with strong presentation skills. The ability to deliver virtual workshops is essential.

Satisfactory clearance of a Basic DBS will be a condition of employment.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we may close this advert before the stated closing date if enough applications are received.
