The Intermediate Care Unit at Crowborough Hospital are looking to recruit Staff Nurses to join their friendly team. Whether you are experienced, looking for your first job, or looking to return to practice, we will be happy to support and develop you in your career.

We are an 18-bed unit sub-acute medical ward delivering excellent care at the heart of the community. We are compassionate and caring, and work together to achieve patient-centred care.

We care for patients both 'stepping down' from secondary and tertiary care and 'stepping up' from home to prevent admission to secondary care. We aim to provide a service that supports patients to maximise their ability to live independently and return home when it is safe for them to do so.

As a Staff Nurse on the ward you will play an important part in your patients' recovery. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to use and develop key skills, providing holistic assessment and patient care. You will be responsible for contributing to care, observing, monitoring and recording patients' progress whilst communicating and managing effectively any changes in their conditions and planning their safe discharge. Liaising with external partners and patients' families is a very important part of the role. We also work closely with our community hospitals at Uckfield and Lewes.

We have free parking on site which can be used by staff.

The post holders will be required to work flexibly on both day and night shifts. Full time, part time and flexible working patterns will all be considered.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically also; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
