Sessional Lecturer - Art and Design (Bank Staff)
Department of Creative Industries, Brighton Campus
We are proud and excited to be recruiting for new and enthusiastic lecturers to add to our bank of sessional Art and Design staff. The successful applicants will be making a vital contribution to the teaching and assessment on our nationally renowned, Foundation Diploma course which is awarded by University of the Arts London (Awarding Body). This flagship course is a one-year programme which prepares students for university level study and requires lecturers who can deliver the highest quality tutorial support and dynamic, creative lectures and lessons. Furthermore, the role of a Sessional Bank lecturer involves supporting all aspects of the teaching and learning process from enrolment to lecturing, and includes assessing work, associated administration and pastoral responsibilities. As such, we are looking for exceptional applicants who have excellent teaching experience, a recognised teaching qualification and effective communication skills, both written and verbal. We also expect applicants to have GCSE’s in both maths and English (or equivalent) or a willingness to gain. Our sessional bank lecturing opportunities are available in the following subjects;
Art and Design, Fashion and Textiles, Fashion Business, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, 3D Design, Digital Arts, Games Design, Creative Entrepreneurship (L4), Media Production (L4). We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with a strong all-round arts background and those with Fashion and Textiles, Illustration or Fine Art specialisms. A good degree in a relevant subject is essential. If you meet these requirements, we’d love to hear from you. Selection interviews are informal and will be an opportunity to discuss your creative practice and how you can contribute to the ongoing success and quality of our Foundation Diploma.
Interviews will be held on the 9th and 11th December 2020
