In this role you will lead and manage a team of skilled analysts to develop and implement inventory management strategies across Virgin Atlantic’s (VAA) global network. You will conduct rigorous analysis and evaluation of VAA’s route performance and competitive positioning to maximise revenue generation.

You'll drive forward our performance by developing new revenue theories, strategies and tools in conjunction with the wider Pricing & Revenue Management team and other commercial areas. Motivating and developing the team and provide thought leadership within Revenue Management and use your natural ability to drive engagement, promote new ideas and bring groups together.

Working in this high performing team, this role is for someone who wants to be front and centre of Virgin Atlantic’s revenue generation as we move forward from the COVID crisis.

Day to day

  • Devise, evaluate, recommend and successfully execute plans through the team of analysts to optimise seat inventory in order to maximise VAA’s revenue performance. 
  • Lead and manage the team to ensure flights are optimally set-up through constant review of inventory strategies and leveraging RM decision support tools. 
  • Drive improved outcomes through leading the team in forensic analysis of route revenue, booking performance and the competitive landscape. 
  • Develop and improve the design and utilisation of decision support tools to minimise low/high yield spill and spoil, optimise forecast accuracy, set overbooking strategies and other key metrics to optimise VAA’s revenue production. 
  • Cultivate an effective working relationship with counterparts at Delta and Air France-KLM in order to ensure alignment of inventory strategy in our joint venture. 
  • Day-to-day management responsibility for a team of 6 analysts, setting clear KPIs and managing team performance accordingly. 
  • Work closely with the Pricing & Revenue Performance and Strategy teams, ensuring full alignment and strong coordination and communication. 
  • Lead and manage assigned projects from inception to successful implementation

  • Expert knowledge of inventory management theory, systems and processes alongside exceptional analytical skills.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of complex data in order to identify trends and formulate plans. 
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
