Adur & Worthing Councils run a range of learning and development for staff - from leadership development to apprenticeships to health and safety-based training. We do this to get the most from our people and to keep our staff safe in their work.

This apprenticeship role is key to the team:

  • Keeping a smooth-running learning and development service for the councils. You’ll be involved with activities ranging from booking courses to processing invoices, updating staff records to arranging meetings
  • Responsible for creating e-learning courses on our learning platform in partnership with different teams across the Councils, so you’ll need to be good with technology and interested in learning about how to create engaging and meaningful learning content

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about our approach to designing services that meet the needs of our residents and business communities as you give admin support to the SameRoom function of our team.

This is a great new role with a friendly and hardworking team, ideal for anyone keen to get their foot in the door of local government, gain a qualification and get a wide range of experience in office administration.

Who we’re looking for:

Above all, you’ll be well organised, with great attention to detail and be keen to keep on learning and developing yourself!

You may sometimes need to prioritise and switch tasks depending on what comes into the team, so you need to be adaptable. You’ll be able to work independently and enjoy cracking on with things by yourself.

We’re looking for someone who wants to deliver a great service to people, with a friendly attitude and great communication and customer service skills.

As this is an apprenticeship post studying a business administration course, you’ll be dedicated to your learning and open to trying out and learning new things along the way.

What’s in it for you?

We’re committed to supporting you through your apprenticeship and will give you plenty of opportunities to put your learning into practice.

We pay well above the apprenticeship minimum wage, give generous holiday entitlement and paid leave for volunteering projects.

We offer flexible benefits that can be tailored to suit you and your family. From our parental leave policies through to employee discounts, retail vouchers and local government pension we are committed to supporting you throughout your time with us.
