  • Medical, nursing and therapeutic care provided to over 9,000 children and adults a day
  • July 2018 Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating of 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features
  • BAME, Disability, LGBT+ and Religion and Belief Staff Networks
  • Disability Confident Employer - Level 2

At Time to Talk Health, we care about anxious or depressed patients having time to talk through their common mental health difficulties. We care about our staff, and if being able to work in the beautiful county of West Sussex providing talking therapies to local residents appeals to you and you share our commitment to care, we would like to hear from you.

Time to Talk Health clinicians work with patients across the whole of West Sussex who have anxiety and/or depression associated with their long term conditions (LTCs). We don't restrict the number of sessions provided and we provide a follow up with patients six months post discharge. We are proud to work with our physical healthcare partners to ensure truly holistic care.

Our CBT Therapists provide interventions in person, by video platform and by phone. The team are based in a variety of venues across the county and benefit from opportunities to work from home with all necessary IT equipment provided. Our group programme is currently being reviewed to adhere to social distancing measures and while we've maintained good links with physical healthcare teams we are continuing to develop safe and innovative ways of working.

We are looking for experienced CBT Therapists/Psychological Therapists (or those who are approaching the end of their postgraduate training). We'll provide you with a full induction, or a preceptorship programmer if you are newly qualified, as well as continued support through regular clinical supervision, protected time for clinical skills sessions, and professional development via our Psychology Forum. We will support you to work in consultation with our physical healthcare teams and you will enjoy a varied working week involving no more than five patients on any one day. We follow the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) manual for 20 attended clinical contact hours per week, which consists of assessments, treatment sessions and consultation work. Clinicians take charge of their own diaries and we never overbook appointments.

Applicants should be highly motivated with enhanced written and verbal communication skills. A basic understanding of stepped care, risk assessment, care planning, the Mental Health Act, key performance indicators and positive engagement is preferred.

We have currently adapted our practices to enable many staff to work from home, although this will not be a permanent arrangement; the future emphasis will be working in a more blended form, combining home working, clinical settings, and a designated office base.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically also; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.
