An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our varied and well-established mixed preceptorship rotation. These posts are open to new graduates, those due to qualify soon, and more experienced Occupational Therapists who want to broaden their clinical skills in a variety of specialities.

We are looking for highly motivated applicants with excellent communication skills and a drive for clinical excellence. The rotation facilitates the development of skills and competencies beyond graduate level in a variety of clinical specialties, both physical and mental health. These include:
  • Community Neuro Rehabilitation - based in Brighton General Hospital covering Brighton and Hove, or in Newhaven Rehabilitation Centre covering the High Weald, Lewes and Havens areas.
  • Working Age Mental Health - acute inpatient service based at Millview Hospital in Hove.
  • Paediatrics - based at Seaside View Child Development Centre at Brighton General Hospital.
  • Community Therapy Hubs - providing rehabilitation in people's homes, with teams based at either Brighton General Hospital or Hove Polyclinic.
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation Services - based across Brighton and Hove and at Lewes Intermediate Care Unit.

Each rotation lasts either six months or a year; you will be given a supervised caseload, and provided with a robust support system of clinical supervision, preceptorship, a personal development plan, and opportunities for training. The rotational scheme works in partnership with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, but throughout your time on rotation you will be employed by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
