Job Details

Band 2

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community healthcare provider in Sussex.
  • Over 5,000 full and part time staff, with 4,000 people registered on our bank
  • Medical, nursing and therapeutic care provided to over 9,000 children and adults a day
  • July 2018 Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating of 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features
  • Flexible working patterns offered across our services
  • BAME, Disability, LGBT+ and Religion and Belief staff networks
  • Disability Confident Employer - Level 2

Due to the transfer of one of our Healthcare Assistants, we have a rare opportunity for the right person to join our close knit, award-winning Overnight Nursing Service. The vacancy is for nine nights, each nine hours long, spread over a four week rolling roster, which means you know which shifts you will be working well in advance.

You would be paired with one of our highly experienced and senior Registered Nurses on the night shift, travelling throughout West Sussex to provide urgent care to patients in their own homes, in residential care, and in nursing homes. Having a driving licence and access to a car is essential: once in post, you will have access to our subsidised lease car scheme.

The right person doesn't need any specific skills - we can teach you those - but it's the character and attitude you bring to the role which makes the difference. The role of the Overnight team means being adaptable and sometimes innovative to meet our patients' needs.

If you are looking for a challenge and think you might have what it takes, perhaps this is the post for you.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. If you have not heard from us within two weeks please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please ensure that you check your emails, including your junk folder, on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically as well; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.

Applicant requirements

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
