Band 7

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community healthcare provider in Sussex.
  • Over 5,000 full and part time staff, with 4,000 people registered on our bank
  • Medical, nursing and therapeutic care provided to over 9,000 children and adults a day
  • July 2018 Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating of 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features
  • Flexible working patterns offered across our services
  • BAME, Disability, LGBT+ and Religion and Belief staff networks
  • Disability Confident Employer - Level 2

We're currently recruiting both experienced CBT Therapists and those who are approaching the end of their postgraduate training and are due to qualify soon.

We will provide a full induction, or a preceptorship programme if you are newly qualified, as well as continued support through regular clinical supervision, protected time for clinical skills sessions, and professional development via our Psychology Forum.

We work in consultation with our physical healthcare teams, and offer a varied working week involving no more than five patients on any one day. Our clinicians take charge of their own diaries, and we never overbook appointments.

Our clinicians provide interventions by phone, in person, and online via video platforms. Our High Intensity Therapists are based in a variety of venues across West Sussex, and are provided with IT equipment to ensure they can also work from home.

Time to Talk Health (TTTH) clinicians work with patients across West Sussex who have anxiety and/or depression associated with their long term conditions (LTCs). We do not restrict the number of sessions provided, we follow patients up six months after being discharged, and we're proud to work with our physical healthcare partners to ensure truly holistic care.

Applicants should be highly motivated, with enhanced written and verbal communication skills, and ideally a basic understanding of stepped care, risk assessment, care planning, and key performance indicators. The posts are based in Horsham or Worthing, with travel required across West Sussex, so the post holders will need to be car drivers with the ability to travel to different sites and provide some evening cover. Our working week includes opportunities to work from home.

We particularly welcome applications from disabled, LGBT+ and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as we would like our TTTH team to reflect the diverse communities we serve. As a Trust, we recognise the positive value of diversity in providing high quality and culturally competent care; we are a Disability Confident Employer, and benefit from thriving and supportive BAME, Disability, LGBT+ and Religion and Belief Staff Networks.

We may also be able to help you with a relocation package if you are considering moving to West Sussex.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. If you have not heard from us within two weeks please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please ensure that you check your emails, including your junk folder, on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically as well; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.
