This is a part-time permanent role working 30 hours per week. Job sharers are welcome to apply. 

Initially you will be working from home but when we return to the office, the post is based at our Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton.

Come and join our Finance department as a Management Accountant, managing several professional service departments (e.g. Information Services, Student Operations and Human Resources) at the University of Brighton. Working in a well-established team, you will undertake the full range of management accounting tasks:

Key Duties: 

•             Providing financial advice and support to budget managers and Heads of Department.

•             Undertake budget setting for the relevant professional service departments.

•             Monthly budget monitoring including regular budget holder meetings.

•             Outturn forecasting.

•             Producing reconciliations.

•             Undertaking Year end tasks and providing support to audit queries.

•             There will be opportunities to get involved in project costing and non-research grants. 

Requirements to be successful in this post are: 

•             Part Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA), AAT Full Member or QBE.

•             Financial awareness and the ability to explain financial concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.

•             Problem solving skills and the ability to provide financial support to organisational change.

•             Good oral and written communication skills and able to work to a high degree of accuracy.

•             Able to work independently and proactively with demonstrable Excel skills.

•             An understanding of the challenges of working in a large, complex organisation.
