Receptionist/Studio Coordinator - £9.50-£10ph

Start: As soon as possible

Background

About Balance is a health and well-being centre with a warm welcome and community vibe based in the centre of Brighton. We like to do things differently, and have created the first yoga, wellbeing and float hub in Brighton delivering consistent and professional services at affordable prices for all. The company is built on a fair-trade business model ensuring that practitioners are fairly paid and customers can reap the rewards. We are a fun and down to earth team, always finding new ways to positively impact our community.

The Opportunity

You will work as part of the Reception team to ensure the efficient smooth running of the centre for 20-30 hours per week on a shift rota, which will include regular evenings and weekends.

You will manage the reception, greet clients, explain products and services, give aftercare, book clients onto our MindBody software, and some light cleaning of the space and Flotation tanks between clients.

As Studio Coordinator you will also work closely with the general manager and operations manager to make sure our program of classes runs smoothly and effectively and take an active role in developing business for teachers. Duties include assisting with building our program of classes, communicating ‘how we work’ with potential teachers, supporting new teachers when they join, and making sure their services are displayed correctly on Mindbody and the website.

You will be the main point of contact for teachers, representing About Balance ethos and way of working, you will take an active role in resolving any timetable and class related requests and queries, and communicating with general management when needed. You will also have the opportunity to develop our relations with other venues, for outdoor classes, events and festivals, and programming in other studios.

You will be a natural communicator, who is keen to combine your customer service skills with your organisational and administrative know-how.  You are enthusiastic about developing a diverse and well-balanced program of classes and activities at About Balance where EVERYONE feels welcome and will take an active role in developing and promoting About Balance’s inclusivity statement.  You will probably have some experience in the wellbeing sector – whether an avid Yogi yourself or having worked in a similar business. You are a fantastic team player, not afraid to pitch your ideas and manage up when required.

An opportunity to work in a beautiful, centrally located yoga centre, as part of a caring team, and the chance to grow and develop into this brand-new role and make it your own. Benefits include a free Karma Card for the duration of your employment, which gives discounts on all our products, as well as the security of a minimum hours contract so that you have guaranteed hours.
