We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated, flexible and resilient practitioner to join our successful and dedicated FNP team, based in Broadfield Children & Family Centre. This is a permanent full time post.

The aim of the programme is to improve: maternal antenatal health; child health and development; and parents economic self-sufficiency, though intensive home visiting and delivery of the FNP preventive home visiting programme to vulnerable young mothers and their parents who are expecting their first baby during pregnancy, usually up until the child's second birthday; with a caseload of up to 25 vulnerable families.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse, health visitor or school nurse who has significant experience of working in the community with families in deprived communities. This is a highly demanding and intense specialist role and requires an individual educated to degree level, with high levels of reflective practice and the ability to demonstrate warmth and engage with vulnerable clients. Applicants need to possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and work well, both independently and as part of the team.

You will require knowledge of the current public health agenda, in particular the Healthy Child Programme, have sound knowledge and significant experience of safeguarding practice and meet the requirements of the person specification.

Post holders will be required to develop high-level generalist and specialist skills to work within the clinical methods of the structured programme. You will be expected to attend all mandatory training with the FNP National Unit, some of which will be residential as well as undertake online training. The majority will be within the first 12 month period of commencing in post. Please note there is a considerable amount of travel involved, including visiting families anywhere that they may move within West Sussex, attending meetings across the county and nationwide learning events.

Interviews will be held on June 3 rd 2021 and young parents will be included on the interview panel.
