About the role

The Finance Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payments for the Company and carrying out any other accounting procedures as required.

The Finance Assistant makes every effort to prioritise business and departmental objectives, thereby protecting the Company’s financial interests and maximising profitability. The role reports to the CEO.

Key day to day duties

  • Pay UK and European experience providers via credit card or BACS in accordance with agreed financial terms
  • Reconcile Sterling and Euro bank accounts
  • Ensure exchange rates are correctly administered
  • Check every invoice to make sure rates and client numbers are the same and the Company’s in-house system costs are accurate
  • Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with our experience provider network
  • Process customer refunds quickly and efficiently, to ensure that service excellence is maintained
  • Keep CRM and banking systems up to date, with accurate BACS and contact details per experience provider
  • Input relevant financial information into the appropriate accounting systems
  • Ensure all financial data is accurately filed and processed, meeting bank, audit, and reporting requirements
  • Assist with annual Company financial audit as needed
  • Identify areas where tech and process improvements can be made in order to maximise efficiency and accelerate performance
  • Undertake any related ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Leadership Team or Directors
  • Collaborate with other Company functions as necessary to perform duties and help the business to thrive
  • Ensure continuous professional self-development and attend training & development sessions as required

  • Proven ability of meeting tight deadlines
  • Able to build effective, productive relationships with colleagues, customers, and clients

Education & experience:

  • GCSE Grade B or above in English and Mathematics
  • Competent user of Xero and Sage 200
  • Adaptable to in-house systems
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
  • Proven experience of basic bookkeeping and accounting practices
