Fracture Prevention Nurse - 30 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Band 6 Nurse to join the Osteoporosis and Falls Prevention Service for a 6 months fixed term contract.

You will be based at the Brighton General Hospital, working as part of a dynamic Falls an Fracture Prevention team. The team includes a Fracture Prevention Specialist, Falls Specialist Practitioners, a Nurse, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Falls Specialist Assistants. The post holder will carry out specialist assessments and interventions including FRAX, bone health and Postural Hypotension assessments. The post is mostly clinic based with occasional community home visits.

The case load will include patients who are at risk of osteoporosis, falls and fragility (low trauma) fractures. We welcome forward-thinking professionals to help develop our service. This post offers first- rate opportunities to work with an inter-professional team and to develop a wide range of clinical, communication and organisational skills. Continuing professional development opportunities include Trust courses, peer support, regular supervision in line with the Trust's policy and the support of specialist team members.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
