Engineering Operative Apprentice Level 2

Training on all aspects of metal work, leading to proficiency with all processes carried out within the manufacturing area. Learning from experienced metal workers.

Weekly wage - £200.00

Working week - 40 hours ( to be discussed at interview).

Total hours per week: 40.00

Expected duration 24 months

Apprenticeship level Intermediate Level 2 (GCSE)

You will be working with sheet metal and day to day tasks will include the following.

Core skills:

• Training to operate cutting, folding and finishing machines
• Drilling, tapping, grinding
• Cleaning
• Reading drawings & inspection

Potential progression to:

• Machine setting / programming
• Advanced fabrication / welding processes

Desired skills

• Manual dexterity, careful with tools and equipment

Personal qualities

• Good timekeeping, ability to work in small team
• Willingness to learn new skills

Desired qualifications

• Good GCSE results (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent) are desirable

Future prospects

• Full time employment and progression within the company

Things to consider

• Pegasus Precision is located in the countryside near Ashford, so own transport is considered essential
• Wages to be reviewed after 6 months

We specialize in the manufacture of sheet metal fabrications for the instrumentation and defense sectors. Our processes include laser cutting, CNC punching and folding, welding and dressing.

Working with Aluminium, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel primarily.

A small team of 12 people looking to grow in these high precision markets, and part of a group which is actively involved in growing manufacturing businesses in the South East region
