Lecturer in 3 Dimensional Design (with Study Programme Lead responsibility) UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.

Based at our Central Brighton campus

14.8 hours per week - 0.4FTE.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding 3D design lecturer to join Greater Brighton Metropolitan College as a 0.4 FTE lecturer with Study Programme Lead responsibility. This post is for our highly successful, and internationally renowned Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and you will be responsible for the 3D Design pathway. Students on this pathway consistently achieve outstanding grades and progress onto high profile universities like Goldsmiths, CSM and Cambridge. Our outstanding UAL course will give the right candidate a rare opportunity to develop and lead our flagship 3D provision.

The holder of this pivotal role will support the Deputy Head of Learning in ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning are delivered at all times, will be on hand to support quality reviews and standardisation and will be an outstanding teacher in their own right.

We are looking for an ‘all-rounder’, someone who has the skills and confidence to teach across a variety of 3D design specialisms, such as architecture, product design and practical 3 dimensional skills in wood, metal and plastic. We are looking for someone who is not afraid of hard work, who can take risks, someone who thrives on variety and constant change and challenge.

If you have course leadership experience, are a qualified lecturer who has taught Foundation Diploma previously and can deliver outstanding lessons, then this could be the job for you. The successful candidate will be joining the MET at a very exciting time in the college's 150-year history; we will be in our brand new, state-of-the-art Creative Industries studios in the newly built and re-developed Pelham Street campus in the heart of the city. There has never been a more exciting time to come and work for us.

You will require an academic qualification at Level 5 / Level 6, or professional qualification equivalent in a relevant subject area and a recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one).  You also require experience of working within a Fashion and/or Textiles environment and knowledge of curriculum planning and development to meet the learning needs of all students within a possibly diverse cohort. Good written and verbal communication skills and good IT skills are also essential.

Interviews will be held on 25th August 2021.
