Job Details

Home Manager

Chailey Heritage Foundation based in East Sussex is a nationally recognised centre for children and young adults with complex physical disabilities and high health needs.

We offer a flexible residential provision ranging from short breaks to 52 weeks a year. We have a number of purpose-built residential bungalows in an idyllic setting within the Chailey Heritage Foundation site which also includes an outstanding special school, a range of day services, a large hydrotherapy pool and a small farm.

We are looking to recruit an ambitious, hands on leader, to support the delivery of an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating for Residential Care. You will lead a team of skilled and dedicated support staff to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential and prepare them for life beyond CHF. We will want you to lead by example and be willing to be involved in the occasional support and care of our young adults, in order to truly understand their needs, and build relationships with their families by speaking knowledgeably about their loved ones care. Doing this will also enable you to build strong, successful working relationships with your team, and ensure adherence to the values of our Code of Conduct. You will also have a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation policies, and regulatory requirements. You should ideally have a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this, which would be funded entirely by the Foundation.

This is a demanding role, but for the right candidate it will be an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, and help us to deliver highly skilled and personalised support to the young adults we care for

What are we looking for?

  • The skills and experience to be able to coordinate the operational needs of the home including managing a team of up to 25 support workers working on a rotational shift basis
  • To lead and direct others to provide person centred support to children and young people with physical disabilities and complex health needs in order to promote independence and personal fulfilment
  • Proven experience in dealing with complex physical and medical disabilities
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social care or willingness to complete this within 12 months of joining
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure, be highly motivated, patient and enjoy working as part of a team
  • A working understanding of relevant legislation and policies
  • A positive attitude towards diversity in general and specifically towards the rights, independence, inclusion and choice for Young People with complex needs.

In return you will receive a competitive package which includes:

  • Starting Salary: £33,165
  • Competitive annual leave entitlements
  • On-site Café, Gym & Yoga Sessions
  • Appreciation awards for long service
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • First-Class induction and training from qualified professionals
  • A workplace with a ‘feel good’ factor

Closing date for applications is 25 July 2021 at 23:59.
