B&CE have an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an HR Business Partner on a 12 month FTC to cover a period of maternity leave. You will work within a thriving function who have guided B&CE’s growth to become a leading provider within workplace pensions. In short, we are looking for a highly talented individual to work in partnership with the business, as a trusted adviser, to provide specialist coaching, support and influence relating to the full HR remit of related issues including talent sourcing and recruitment resourcing, enabling managers to effectively deliver their people plans and sustain and help drive forward operational and strategic activities.

Work with the HRD to provide expert advice to equip managers with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their people e.g. performance management, absence management, career management, ensuring B&CE’s values are upheld and culturally embedded within the organisation’s activities.

Ensure that legal and regulatory risks relating to people activities in area of responsibility are managed and appropriate controls in place. Apply Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) culture and principles within area of responsibility.

Act as an ambassador for the culture of the organisation.

Actively contribute to the reputation of the HR team as an add-value and enabling function, trusted by the organisation for people related matters. Consistently seek out ways to improve and enhance deliverables from the HR function.

Key Responsibilities are:

• Provide advice and guidance to managers regarding the implementation of strategic and operational objectives
• Develop a sound knowledge of the business area by becoming an integral part of the business unit proactively supporting the delivery of People & Reward policies and processes within employment best practice and legislation
• Acts as a single point of contact for managers in the business unit on all matters relating to people policies and procedures and employment legislation
• Coach and build the capability of managers and assist with training and development activities such as focus groups
• Hold regular meetings with all Accountability Level 3+ managers within the business unit, to support and guide them with P&R related issues relating to their team
• Investigate employee relations issues including grievances & disciplinaries, and recommend appropriate action, participating in disciplinary hearings where necessary
• Support the business area with the annual salary and calibration process, ensuring a fair and robust process in line with company policy
• Prepare and analyse HR management information to provide insight into trends and inform management decision making
• Drive continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence, performance, retention etc. Pro-actively provide appropriate recommendations to line managers to address identified issues
• Actively support the Head of BP’s with implementing / revising existing and/or new policies and procedures to ensure that the company meets best practice, holds clear consistent policies and complies with current employment legislation
• Facilitate talent sourcing and recruitment to meet business requirements and resource operating models, working within budgets.
• Keep up to date with employment legislation
• Project manage ad-hoc people related projects as and when required including streamlining HR processes, supporting the introduction of new system modules on Sage People
• Contribute to the implementation of job evaluation, remuneration and reward strategies ensuring the business is aligned with current market rates and trends
• Conducting exit interviews and feeding back relevant information to the departmental manager and making suggestions for improvement.
• To undertake ad hoc duties as directed and agreed with the Head of BPs
• Support the business area with pay review, bonus, pay benchmarking and job evaluation processes in line with Reward Strategy
