Purpose of the Role

To assist & oversee the running of the Lewes - Cliffe High Trading Post Coffee kitchen and successfully manage all kitchen staff, to manage all aspects of the kitchen and to provide culinary experience for all customers.

·A good level cooking experience 

·Prior knowledge of all health and safety related to working in the Kitchen with experience in food safety awareness and COSHH.

·You will be working in a fast-paced environment and must be able to make quick, effective decisions. A ‘can do’ attitude is a must.

·Flexibility in working in all of our sites.

·The ability to plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the company’s reputation for quality is enhanced with customers at all times.

·Excellent communication skills in order to carry out the role effectively, you will have previous experience in communicating with your team and other members of staff in the business.

·As part of the kitchen team you will assist in completing Weekly & Monthly checks on cleaning, cleaning schedules, correct food storage, date labelling, site kitchen issues / concerns, correct record keeping (temperature checks, products issues & storage) and any updates on COSHH and data sheets.

·Follow all COSHH data sheets.

·Follow all correct food Allergen information available at each site kitchen.

·Follow the best practices in the kitchen including ordering, food prep, organisation of cooking to order & plating up, fridge / freezer / kitchen layout and equipment needs, reducing wastage, cleaning / chemicals required, refuse collection and any other related tasks.

·Have a real passion for food and customer service along with bags of enthusiasm and recognition that customer engagement is key and create an exceptional customer experience.

·Communicate at all levels.

·Ensure and enforce the brand standards are adhered to 

·Ensuring the highest levels of food quality.

·Preferred minimum of 2 years

·Food Hygiene level 2 qualification

·Health & Safety level 21qualification 

·Industry recognised Allergens certification
