A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust to join our Wheelchair & Seating Service as the clinical lead for specialist seating. The successful applicant will join a welcoming and supportive team of experienced therapists, rehabilitation engineers, administrators and therapy assistants. Applications are accepted from professionals with relevant training and registration with the HCPC or NMC.

As the sole clinical lead for specialist seating, the successful applicant will need excellent organisation, communication and team working skills to balance their workload and manage their time across the service. This specialist area of clinical practice requires highly developed clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to manage complex presentations. The role is varied and interesting, working with a range of ages and clinical conditions in a variety of settings to assess and meet posture and mobility needs. This is an exciting time to join the team, as we develop and grow our service.

Applicants should have experience in and a passion for specialist seating, posture management, and wheelchairs. They should have management and leadership experience or wish to develop their skills further in this area. Whilst the base is negotiable, the role involves working across SCFT sites, so travelling between sites is essential. The role is full-time, however a job share may be considered.

We can offer support through a corporate and local induction programme, clinical supervision, a programme of continuing professional development, excellent training and development opportunities and the chance to participate in our active leadership training programme.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 19/08/21 and 20/08/21.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.
