We are looking for enthusiastic budding chefs who want to focus on Vegetarian and plant based food, looking to progress their knowledge within a supportive and exciting environment.

As your prospective employer we will give you the training not only to complete your apprenticeship but also the tools to progress within not only our company but within the industry as a whole,

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Help to prepare meal ingredients
  • Assisting the kitchen staff with all kitchen duties
  • Measuring ingredients accurately during preparation and following recipes provided
  • Preparation of ingredients including peeling, chopping, cooking and presenting
  • Receiving deliveries and confirming the delivery notes are accurate
  • Maintaining stock level
  • Monitoring foods in accordance with use by dates and storage directions
  • Cleaning of kitchen and equipment to maintain hygiene as required by the local authority environmental health requirements
  • Plating up and running the pass as directed by head chef
  • Unboxing, unpacking and storage of deliveries

About Brighton MET (formerly City College Brighton and Hove)

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) was created from the merger of City College Brighton and Northbrook College Sussex. It is the college for our City and our region and draws on 150 years of heritage, history and experience.

The MET offers a comprehensive range of qualifications for 16 year olds leaving school, full and part time courses for adults, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university degrees. The MET operates across five campuses in Brighton, Shoreham and Worthing and teaches around 3,500 16-18 year olds, 7,500 adult learners, 1,000 undergraduates and 800 apprentices.
