Are you a existing or soon to be qualified Registered General Nurse with a keen interest in Continence looking for an exciting opportunity within Community Nursing ?
Main duties of the job
Our Specialist Bladder and Bowel team is expanding across Community Services and we are looking for RGN's to join us to work within this specialist field in the Community.
The service promotes continence by offering Rehabilitation, advice and support to patients to enable self management of continence through individualized and holistic management planning with our patients at the center.
This fulfilling role will give opportunity to develop wider skills within Community Nursing whilst working as a Continence Practitioner as a wider part of the Community Nursing Team across our patients in our local communities.
Th post will involve working in both clinic environments as well as our patients own homes, therefore a car driver/owner is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job Summary
The post holder will provide a mixture of general and specific care for
individuals with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction both in the clinic and home environment.
The post holder will be expected to participate in education programmes for all groups of persons (healthcare professionals, carers, patients)
The Bladder & Bowel Nurse will be directly supervised by a Bladder & Bowel Specialist Nurse.

Qualifications and/or Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- • Registered nurse
- ENB 998 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Promotion Continence Care (ENB 978) or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Informal / formal teaching
- Independent working /workload management
Desirable criteria
- 1 years post registration experience. Relevant and recent clinical experience (e.g.: continence, bowel care, urology)
- Male/female catheterisation
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient care
- Time management
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to relate theory to practice
- Knowledge of bladder and bowel dysfunction
Desirable criteria
- Clinical governance underpinning continence care
