Purchasing Assistant

The Best Connection are recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a company based in Ford. This role is on a temp to perm basis and can be either full or part time depending on the candidate’s availability and experience.

Key purpose of the role: 

Working within the purchasing team, you will assume responsibility for Purchase Order management, alongside the running of reports to ensure on-time delivery. Working with the supply chain to secure optimal delivery schedules to meet customer required delivery dates. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced individual or anyone looking to start a career in purchasing to learn their profession in a supportive environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Providing daily administrative support to the purchasing team.
• Progressing & processing purchase orders.
• Managing open order schedules with suppliers.
• Running order books
• Data entry, dealing with incoming and outbound phone calls, answering emails
• Working with our suppliers to improve communication and streamline processes.
• General office administration

Required attributes:

• Previous purchasing experience ideal but not essential
• Strength in mathematics.
• An ability to remain calm, confident and focused while handling high numbers of tasks
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Training will be provided as necessary.
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with colleagues and external contacts.
• Due to the location of the role, candidates must have their own transport

Hours: Flexible, minimum of 22 hours per week to full-time Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £10 - £11 per hour depending on experience
