Job Details

We are currently recruiting for a Swimming Assistant to work 29.5 hours per week, term time only, to support the team in the effective operation of the Hydrotherapy pool at Chailey Heritage Foundation on a day-to-day basis.

The Aquatics Assistant will be responsible for providing the highest standards of delivery, care and safety at all times, liaiing with staff who use the Aquatics facilities, offering support and instruction to all age groups and different needs of young people of all standards and ability.

You will be assisting with the delivery of Aquatics programmes and sessions as part of the school day whilst supporting young people to achieve their potential and curriculum objectives.

Above all, we are looking for an individual who possesses:

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential for this role
  • ASA / STA Level 1 / 2 Teaching Aquatics would be desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety especially within a pool/leisure environment
  • Experience of working with children and/or adults with disabilities
  • Positive attitude towards diversity in general and specifically towards the rights, independence, inclusion and choice for children and young adults with complex needs
  • Good communication and administration skills
