An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our outpatients team at Chailey Clinical Services.

Chailey Clinical Services offer flexible services for children and young people with complex neurodisabilities, and we provide clinical support to children and young adults.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Outpatient team with administrative tasks and aid clinicians with the smooth running of clinics, arranging appointments, and audio dictation.

Chailey Clinical Services is easily accessible by car, yet surrounded by beautiful countryside. We offer free parking on site along with a subsidised café and a fully appointed staff room.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  1. a) The post holder will provide a professional administrative support service to the Outpatient Department at Chailey Clinical Services. The post holder will be expected to work independently using their own initiative to ensure daily tasks and on-going responsibilities are prioritised and completed within agreed timeframes to help with the smooth running of clinics.


The key requirements of this interesting and varied post are an attention to detail to maintain high standards of administrative support in a busy outpatient department whilst retaining a calm and flexible approach. Willingness to work as part of a team, provide cover for colleagues and share common tasks is essential.

This role will act as a point of contact for any communication/correspondence relevant to the Outpatient clinics and their direct reports/Clinicians.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Good level of secretarial and typing skills - accuracy and efficiency
  • Audio typing skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook email


Desirable criteria
  • RSA Typing Level 3
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Ability to take minutes of meetings


Experience
Essential criteria
  • Secretarial experience
  • Ability to prioritise workload and experience of working to deadlines
  • Audio Typing


Desirable criteria
  • NHS experience
  • Experience of SystmOne
  • Working within a Multi Disciplinary Team


Skills and Knowledge
