Egalité Care prides itself on its reputation for providing excellent support to our customers both in the community and in small group supported living settings.  We are looking for new staff as our service continues to expand.

The role involves working as part of a team or on an individual basis to support young adults with disabilities who need support with a wide range of care needs from those needing a few hours a week of emotional support to others who need care in all aspects of their lives with intensive health care support.  Please look at Egalite’s website and facebook pages for a fuller picture of our team and the work we do.

Duties vary and will depend on where you are working but include:

  • Person centred care for each client
  • Chatting and spending time with clients
  • Taking clients out for trips, activities, walks and sometimes holidays
  • Talking clients to medical appointments
  • Recording all information in the clients files and keeping the information current
  • Helping with daily tasks such as shopping and financial support if needed
  • Encouraging clients to achieve their goals
  • Cleaning, housework, gardening, laundry, meal preparation and infection control
  • Organising activities to celebrate birthdays, Xmas, fireworks evening etc
  • Personal care if required inc intimate personal care, medication and support with eating if required
  • Undertake all relevant training

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) was created from the merger of City College Brighton and Northbrook College Sussex. It is the college for our City and our region and draws on 150 years of heritage, history and experience.

The MET offers a comprehensive range of qualifications for 16 year olds leaving school, full and part time courses for adults, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university degrees. The MET operates across five campuses in Brighton, Shoreham and Worthing and teaches around 3,500 16-18 year olds, 7,500 adult learners, 1,000 undergraduates and 800 apprentices.
