We're seeking a new Legal Executive, this role plays a pivotal part in providing effective commercial legal support, to enable strong business performance.


Day to day

• Concluding general commercial contracts for aviation, tour operator and ancillary products and services procured and supplied by Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic Holidays.
• Reviewing and advising on advertising, promotional and marketing materials for in-store, on-line, direct mail, and the media.
• Liaising with and managing cross function experts, whether internal or external
• Provision of tactical and strategic advice and direction to senior management on material commercial and/or legal issues arising in the course, of trade.
• Drafting, maintaining, and updating standard contracts and T&Cs including website terms and business to business contracts.
• Provision of tactical and strategic advice and direction to procurement team colleagues and relevant business users on commercial and/or legal issues to assist them in effectively concluding appropriate (e.g., low risk, low value, recurrent) commercial arrangements independently of the Legal Team.
• Provision of legal advice and assistance to the business in relation to Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.
• Advising on and maintaining awareness of external legal and regulatory developments likely to impact the business.
• Assisting with the maintenance of legal compliance frameworks to ensure that legal regulatory and corporate requirements are met.
• Assessing and mitigating legal risk related to legal issues.
• Support and management of ABTA membership relationship.
• Advising on and managing low-value disputes with suppliers or on intellectual property disputes.


About you

Have you got excellent interpersonal skills, able to build fantastic working relationships and collaborate with both internal and external with people?

In addition to the above we are looking for:

• Chartered Institutes of Legal Executives (CILEX) qualified or NQ – 2+ year qualified solicitor.
• Sound technical commercial legal knowledge and commercially astute.
• Ability to provide commercially focused legal advice / direction within a business environment.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well on own initiative and demonstrate strong cross functional working relationships, both in an internal and external context.
• Cost and commercial awareness in relation to legal matters and budgets.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
• Ability to keep to deadlines and manage expectations.
