We have an impactful Bid & Project Manager opportunity to join our Training & Simulation (TTS) business domain.

What the role has to offer:

  • A chance to apply your bid management experience and expertise to a domain with a strong and varied bid pipeline and potential export opportunities

  • Work on multi-entity and/or international projects and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the business

Key responsibilities

On a day to day basis you’ll be involved in:

  • Working with the Capture Lead to develop Win Themes that link customer needs to Thales discriminators

  • Leading the bid management team to ensure that all functions and stakeholders are kept up-to-date and activities are progressing to plan

  • Seeking approval for Bid & Proposal (B&P) funding and then monitoring and controlling the assigned budget

  • Planning and managing the development and delivery of complex bids, working closely with domestic and international stakeholders

  • Ensuring the coordination of all Work Package Manager (WPM) activities for the preparation of the bid and the initial project baseline which will be transferred to the Project Manager: sourcing data, identify customer hot buttons, defining requirements, contributing to the definition of the Make/Team/Buy strategy, and mapping the supply chain to be set up

  • Participating in the implementation of the cash mandate, customer negotiations and finalising the best contract possible

About you

Ideally, you’ll:

  • Have proven experience managing and orchestrating bid management activities in an engineering or industrial environment with high standards of quality (multi-entity or matrix environments)

  • Be familiar with managing competitive bids, Price to Win development, leading Colour Reviews, contributing to Proposal development and presenting at Bid/Gate Reviews

  • Be experienced and adept at building and managing strong, long lasting relationships across customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Possess excellent communication and influencing skills with experience driving multidisciplinary teams to successful bid completion (experience aligning deliverables with customer requirements and submission deadlines)

  • Have experience working autonomously and managing your own deliverables without the requirement of regular supervision

  • Have a professional Project Management (i.e. IPMA, APM or PMI) or Bid Management qualification i.e. Shipley or similar – highly desirable
