Development opportunity : 6 months secondment for Band 5 Registered Nurse to work in Worthing Liaison Team

We want to help, support and nurture you with the right skills to become a confident nurse in the urgent care pathway and this opportunity really suits Band 5 nurses who are interested to gain some experience in Mental Health Liaison Team in Worthing. If you are aspiring for a Band 6 post in urgent care services in the future, this development post will give you the right level of broad experience and exposure required.

Main duties of the job

This is a very exciting development post during which time you will work within the Worthing Mental Health Liaison (MHL) service alongside a diverse range of professionals. This service is integral to our Urgent Care Pathway and ensure people presenting to acute mental health services receive a compassionate, person- centred assessment and timely care plan.

  • Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role

Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007
  • Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
  • Child and Adult safe guarding procedures
  • Change management at organising and prioritising their workload.
  • Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge.
  • Demonstrate professional development relevant to the specific care group
